The City of Owensboro Parks & Recreation Department is now accepting registrations for their two fun-loving Summer Day Camps. Registration is  now open for returning families.  NEW family registration will begin February 8.

Camps will take place May 23 - August 8 for ages 5-12. All 5 year olds must currently be enrolled in   Kindergarten. Each camp is open Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m.-5:30p.m. Early morning drop-off is available at 7:00 a.m. for an additional $2 per day. Breakfast, lunch and snacks are provided at both camps throughout the summer.  The Owensboro Parks and Recreation is a member of the American Camp Association.

Our traditional Summer Day Camp is located at the Owensboro Parks & Recreation Administration Center 1530 McJohnson Avenue. During the summer, campers will go swimming twice a week, go on one field trip a week, participate in fun and educational games and activities, and have special guests that will add to their camp experience.

The Edge Summer Day Camp is for children that love to skate! Each morning campers will get time on the ice with a counselor who is educated in figure skating, hockey, or recreational skating to improve campers’ skills. In the afternoon campers will play fun structured games and activities, plus swimming and field trips.

To register for either camp, there is an annual $55, plus tax non-refundable registration fee and a weekly fee of $100, plus tax/whole week. An, $85, plus tax/half week (3 days or fewer) is available for The Edge ONLY. Scholarships are available to those who qualify. For more information visit our website owensboroparks.org.

 There is a Sibling Discount of $5 per child per week for each additional sibling, from the same household,  registered after the first child. This discount is not applicable to campers in our scholarship program.

At the time of registration, all forms must be filled out completely and a copy of the camper’s current immunization form must be provided. The $55 registration fee and the first week of camp fee are due at that time also. The registration fee is an annual fee that is good for summer, spring break, fall break and holiday camps.  Space is limited so sign your child up before it is too late! The registration deadline is April 21.
