END OF SYSTEMATIC LOOSE-LEAF COLLECTION
The Sanitation Department has completed its third loose-leaf collection pass through Owensboro with over 2.4 million pounds of leaves collected. Starting Monday, January 5th, 2015 The Owensboro Sanitation Department will begin to convert most of the leaf vacuum collection equipment back to limb and yard waste collections. Unscheduled leaf vacuum collection will continue through Friday, February 13, 2015. In order to have loose leaves collected before the end of the season, customers must call the City Action Line at 270-687-4444 by Thursday, February 12, 2015. Calls for loose-leaf collection received after February 13, 2015 cannot be honored as crews will be conducting chipping operations and will begin cleaning and storing leaf collection equipment. After February 13, 2015 customers desiring leaves to be picked up will need to bag the leaves and place them curbside for collection on their normal trash collection day.
