The City of Owensboro, in partnership with Tyson Foods, will plant four (4) Red Maple trees and four (4) Nuttall Red Oak trees in celebration of Arbor Day. The City also plans to remember Billy Tyler by planting one (1) Eastern Redbud tree in his honor. This event will take place in front of the East Shelter (near the basketball courts) at Legion Park, located at 3047 Legion Park Drive on Friday, April 28 at 1:00 p.m.
An official Arbor Day Proclamation will be presented. The public is invited to attend and celebrate Arbor Day with us. In the event of rain, the tree planting will be Friday, May 5 at 1:00 p.m.
Thank you to Tyson Foods for their generous donation of new trees which our community can enjoy for many years to come.
