MEDIA RELEASE
Date: July 6, 2023 – For Immediate Release
OWENSBORO SANITATION DEPARTMENT
STORM DEBRIS PICK-UP DELAYED
Due to recent storms, yard waste crews are picking up a larger volume of tree limbs and storm debris than normal. This has resulted in a slight delay with the pick-up schedule. Residents can place limbs that fell as a result of the storms on the curb for pick-up. Owensboro Sanitation customers can also haul tree limbs (up to 16 inches in diameter) to the Grimes Avenue Transfer Station for free, accompanied by an ID and current sanitation bill.
The Owensboro Sanitation Department wants to remind residents not to place tree limbs in the street as this can block stormwater drains.
