CITY OF OWENSBORO WELCOMES HOMETOWN CHRISTMAS WITH TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY ON NOVEMBER 22
The City of Owensboro is thrilled to kick off the holiday season with the return of Hometown Christmas, beginning with the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on November 22 at 5:00 p.m. This event marks the start of an expanded series of Hometown Christmas festivities throughout downtown Owensboro, creating fun events for families to enjoy the spirit of the season.
This year’s Hometown Christmas brings even more festive lights and decorations, with new installations throughout McConnell Plaza and along West 2nd Street. The Dancing Lights display is returning to the riverfront, with synchronized lights along Veterans Boulevard, the Christmas tree, and the Blue Bridge twinkling to festive music every 15 minutes. The unique Bourbon Barrel Christmas fixture will also return to McConnell Plaza, offering a perfect backdrop for family photos.
In addition to the nightly light display, 19 events will take place throughout the holiday season including the Energy on Ice rink on the pier behind the Owensboro Convention Center, Breakfast with Santa, the Holiday Stroll downtown, and the Hot Chocolate Hop.
