The City of Owensboro will launch reserved seating ticket sales on Tuesday, March 10 for the Owensboro HydroFair presented by Jagoe Homes, taking place on August 15 & 16, 2020.

Spectators can watch all of the hydroplane racing action free of charge along the Owensboro riverfront on a first-come basis. For those fans wanting to enjoy the benefits of two special reserved seating areas on race weekend, tickets can be purchased on the event’s website, www.owensborohydrofair.com.

The Owensboro Convention Center will have ticketed areas available offering different amenities, ranging from reserved seating to VIP experience. With tickets starting at just $10 per person, guests can enjoy reserved seating on the lower terrace offering the best views of the racing action, as well as some shaded areas to make the day a little more comfortable for race fans. Those wanting a more exclusive experience can purchase tickets that include food, drinks, and views of the racing action from the balconies overlooking the race course on the Ohio River.

English Park will also be a ticketed area on HydroFair weekend, offering a behind-the- scenes look of the pit area for race teams. Tickets for English Park are just $10 per person each day, with kids 12 years old and younger receiving free admission with a paid adult admission. Ticket holders will have access to the bleacher seating to watch the races, as well as the happenings in the pits as teams prepare their drivers for each race. Fans with tickets to English Park will also have exclusive access for pit tours on both Saturday and Sunday prior to the start of the racing action. Tour guides will lead ticket holders through the hydroplane pits for an up-close view of the boats and their teams. They will explain the nuances of the different hydroplane classes competing in the races and answer your questions. Be sure to bring a Sharpie for driver autographs!

The 2020 event will consist of two days of racing with more than 50 teams in seven different inboard hydroplane classes. Boats will be on the water practicing from approximately 12:30 pm to 5:30 pm CDT on Friday, August 14. The racing action will begin at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 15 and Sunday, August 16, with the final races concluding at 5:00 pm both days.

Along with the hydroplane racing, the weekend will also include live music at Friday After 5 on Friday, August 14, and at Live on the Banks on Saturday evening, August 15. The annual Bridge Run 5K/10K will take place Saturday morning, immediately followed by Bridge Day for people to enjoy the views of the Owensboro riverfront from the Glover Cary Bridge.
