PYROTECHNIC EVENT FOR CITY’S BIRD CONTROL PROGRAM STARTING JANUARY 26
In the interest of human health and safety, a pyrotechnic event, which is part of the City of Owensboro’s blackbird control program, will take place the week of January 26, 2015 in the area from Griffith Avenue to Booth Avenue and from Lexington Avenue to Lewis Lane around approximately 3:00 p.m. to dark.
A wildlife specialist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s APHIS Wildlife Services will set off pyrotechnics each evening. Residents in the area should expect the loud noises and flashing lights from the controlled pyrotechnics during that time.
