STREET CLOSURES & PARKING TOMORROW – SENATOR WENDELL FORD FUNERAL
STREET CLOSURES: The following streets will be closed tomorrow for Senator Wendell Ford’s funeral to be held at First Baptist Church in Owensboro, Kentucky:
JR Miller Boulevard – from Second Street to Third Street
Daviess Street – from Second Street to Third Street
East Third Street – from JR Miller Boulevard to Daviess Street
Second Street – from JR Miller Boulevard to Daviess Street
Street closures will be in place at 7:00 a.m. and remain in place until the end of the funeral. Please use caution and attention while traveling in these areas.
PARKING: There are approximately 500 public parking spaces available downtown and in the vicinity of First Baptist Church in Owensboro. Tomorrow only, the City of Owensboro will operate two free downtown trolleys from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for the public to use. The following list outlines first-come, first-serve public parking:
- 130 spaces - Allen Street parking garage (2 hour spots)
- 54 spaces - Wax Works lot (southeast corner of Third and Crittenden streets)
- 114 spaces - Settle Memorial Church
- 50 spaces - Lot next to Glover Cary (blue) bridge (Old Aflac building)
- 70 spots – Vacant State Office Building lot (will be serviced by trolley)
- 85 spots - Lot at corner of Locust and Second streets (will be serviced by trolley)
